Update May 24, 4:59PM ET: Sony sold these PS5 consoles for restocking.
Update May 24, 4:30 PM ET: This Sony console restock is for the new PS5 boxed bundles Forbidden horizon west included. This bundle with the disc-equipped PS5 costs $549.99, which reflects a $20 discount off the game’s $69.99 price tag.
The latest hard-to-get PlayStation 5 console restock has arrived. Sony has opened a public waiting list that you can join now for a chance to purchase a $499 PlayStation 5 that includes a disc drive. We also expect Sony to have the $399 PS5 digital edition without a drive, plus your choice of accessories and games. Sony has routinely offered invite-only PS5-buying opportunities, but more recently it’s also been running public opportunities, allowing anyone with a PSN account to skip a console purchase.
Make sure you keep up to date with your PlayStation Network account login information right away, as you will need to log in if you are successful in signing out. While the Sony site often gives a wait time of one hour or more, the key is to be patient. Some people may be lucky with a much shorter waiting time initially while they may have a long way to go from the start. We’ve recently seen people with 1-hour wait times who manage to come in and buy a console. I’ve also personally seen my timer go down to 11 minutes left before going up again and eventually expiring.
It might sound like a dirty game, but if you can get in, you can buy a console without the need for an expensive package. Just keep in mind that Sony has a limit of one console per PSN account.
Good luck queuing, and remember you don’t need to refresh the page.
While you are waiting in the queue…
Sony has a selection of games and accessories that you can buy along with your console, although there are a few options to consider that we always suggest — whether you’re shopping for exclusive games or colorful accessories.
