North Seattle Incident: Man Arrested for DUI After Crashing into Warehouse; Passenger Detained

One individual has been apprehended by the Seattle Police Department after an incident involving a suspected drunk driver who collided with a building in North Seattle on August 10th.

Seattle police said that the car was traveling at a high speed across Aurora Avenue North just before the crash.

Officials arrived at the location at approximately 6:23 p.m. and discovered the vehicle stuck in a lumber warehouse.

The Seattle Police Department details how a 58-year-old passenger, who was covered in paint after the crash, had broken a glass door with a chair and was about to attack a firefighter when the cops stepped in, exposing themselves to toxic fumes from the spill but unharmed.

Members of the Seattle Fire Department, donning breathing apparatuses, intervened and extracted the driver from the debris.

At Harborview Medical Center, the 62-year-old motorist was treated for minor injuries while awaiting a blood test for a DUI search warrant. It is believed by the police that he was impaired by drugs when the accident happened.

By the Seattle Police Department, he was taken into custody for driving under the influence after his assessment and then lodged in King County Jail.
