LG launched a 47.5-inch 4K OLED gaming monitor with a refresh rate of 138Hz

LG Electronics is gearing up for a next-level gaming experience with the new LG UltraGear gaming monitors

Seoul, May 25, 2022 LG Electronics (LG) announced the launch of its new UltraGear™ gaming monitor range (models 32GQ950, 32GQ850 and 48GQ900). With an all-new design language, the latest display technologies and a host of gaming and connectivity features, the 2022 UltraGear gaming monitors have what it takes to meet gamers’ needs.

Delivering lightning-fast visual performance and speed, the main screen is equipped with a color-realistic 4K Nano IPS display with True Wide (ATW) polarizer technology, while the 32GQ850 has a QHD Nano IPS display with ATW and a super refresh rate 240Hz, overclocked (O/C) up to 260 Hz. The new line-up also welcomes the 48GQ900, the much-anticipated UltraGear brand’s first entry in the OLED gaming monitor category.

This year’s LG UltraGear models feature a sleeker gaming aesthetic with sharp, angular mounts and new Hexagon lighting. Along with the new design identity, LG 2022 monitors offer the latest HDMI 2.1 connectivity, enabling features such as Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) and support for fast 4K gaming on PCs and the latest consoles. As one would expect, the new UltraGear lineup delivers beautiful, vibrant picture quality and lightning-fast response time — 32 inches thanks to LG’s advanced 1ms Nano IPS display technology (GTG) and 48GQ900 via LG’s distinctive 48-inch 0.1ms OLED panel. .

The UltraGear 32GQ950 is a 4K (3840 x 2160) gaming powerhouse that is sure to find a place on many gamers’ wish lists. The 1ms Nano IPS gaming monitor is LG’s first 4K model to use ATW Polarizer technology, which improves the panel’s ability to ensure vivid, accurate colors and deep dark blacks across a wide viewing angle. VESA DisplayHDR™ 1000 certified, the 32-inch LG monitor also offers high peak brightness (1,000 nits) and 98 percent coverage of the DCI-P3 color space, as well as easy connectivity to computers and consoles with two HDMI 2.1 ports.

With the new line’s highest refresh rate – 240Hz, O/C 260Hz – and 1ms response time, the 32-inch UltraGear 32GQ850 delivers the smooth, fast performance that the latest games demand. LG’s VESA-certified AdaptiveSync Display features a Nano IPS QHD (2560 x 1440) panel with ATW Polarizer technology that ensures smooth visuals and consistent colors from virtually any point of view. The 32GQ850 also comes with VESA DisplayHDRTM 600 certification, covers 98 percent of DCI-P3 and features a borderless three-sided design that helps draw gamers deeper into the excitement of their favorite titles.

Notably, 2022 will see the arrival of the first LG UltraGear OLED gaming monitor, the 48GQ900. An award-winning product of Red Dot and iF Design, this 48-inch 4K display features a 120Hz (O/C 138Hz) refresh rate, 0.1ms response time, flawless color accuracy and a completely borderless design. Ideal for PCs and consoles, the new model offers great color reproduction and contrast in OLED and features LG’s Anti-Glare Low Reflection (AGLR) coating, reducing visual aberrations so users can focus their entire attention on the gameplay. Furthermore, the 48GQ900 comes with a specially designed remote control for improved gaming comfort and a stylish stand that provides optimum stability without intruding on the user’s desk or table space.

To complete the gaming experience, LG’s latest UltraGear gaming monitor includes a 4-pole headphone jack that allows users to plug in a gaming headset and chat while gaming. 2022 models also offer the superior surround sound of DTS Headphone: X®, which reproduces every sound in the game with stunning clarity.

In addition, LG UltraGear is introducing its first gamepad and gaming mouse* this year. Supporting the precise control needed for fast-paced gaming, the ergonomic UltraGear gamepad is large enough to accommodate a mouse and keyboard, and has customizable RGB lighting. The reversible pad is suitable for any type of game or play style, and features a smooth hard surface for maximum gliding and a rough textured surface for better grip.

“LG’s latest UltraGear gaming monitor applies the latest technology and design to raise the bar in the gaming display category,” said Seo Young-jae, Senior Vice President and Head of IT Business Unit, LG Electronics Business Solutions Company. “Ideal for both PC and console gaming, our new monitors offer features and capabilities that take the entire gaming experience to the next level. We will continue to build upon the UltraGear brand’s strong reputation with innovative products that put gamers’ needs first.”

The latest UltraGear gaming monitor will be available starting this month in Japan with key markets in North America, Europe and Asia.
