Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez’s wedding in Las Vegas in a white chapel was filled with “laughter, smiles, and tears,” according to the minister who married them.
Ryan Wolff told Page Six exclusively in a new interview that Affleck, 49, was “panting” as Lopez, 52, walked down the aisle — “like only Jennifer Lopez can” – to “Here Comes the Bride.”
“He watched her walk down the aisle and you can only tell he was like, ‘Wow, wow,’” said Wolf. “He let out a little panting. You can tell it was definitely at this moment.”
Wolf – who “really believes” Affleck and Lopez are “soulmates” – added that he could “absolutely tell their love is real” and real based on how they acted around each other during the intimate ceremony.
Remembering how it all began, Wolf tells Page Six that it feels like a normal Saturday night at his job. Then, suddenly, the first-list couple pulled into the venue in a black SUV around 9 p.m. and asked Grace Christian Center’s principal pastor and coordinator, Kenosha Portez, if they had time for another wedding.
“Jennifer was wearing a white dress. She looked beautiful and stunning, as always. And Ben looked cute and smooth, as he always does,” Wolf said, adding that the actor kept the casual things up in “jeans and a white shirt.”
Wolf told us he had a brief chat with Affleck as he was directed to the men’s bathroom for a change in which the “Argo” representative said he “didn’t need anything fancy.” While Affleck was quick to get dressed, his leading lady took a little longer to change her old white dress into a Zuhair Murad gown.
“They came back through the doors and just had a presence around them. Wolf said of the moment the stars entered the church.
The couple insisted they didn’t want “nothing fancy,” and only asked that they say their vows and add “a little bit of God” to the ceremony.
“Their vows were beautiful, they were special. I know they were very important to them. You could tell it was something they both wanted to share with each other,” said the pastor. “It was a special, emotional ceremony and a moment they shared. And their kids were totally interested in that.”
The only other people in the room except for the couple, Wolf and Portis, were Lopez’s 14-year-old daughter Amy, and Affleck’s 13-year-old daughter Serafina, who worked as separate photographers for the event. Although the wedding was small, Wolf says the two children brought all the excitement.
“You can tell baby Jennifer and baby Ben definitely have a good relationship. They’re close,” Wolf said, adding that after Lopez and Affleck were announced husband and wife, the two teens exploded with “excitement” and hugged each other.
Once Bennifer 2.0 said “I do,” the pair sealed the deal with a custom movie kiss. The hug at the altar wasn’t “too long” but “very, very special,” with Wolf joking that he needed to “take some notes from Ben.”
After their marriage, Wolff went from minister to photographer as he helped the happy couple take pictures in their pink Cadillac Elvis and into the Tunnel of Love by car.
Throughout his career in the ministry, the pastor estimates he has presided over more than 10,000 weddings and can “feel” when the couple attends them. Apparently, the sentiment was right on A Little White Chapel that night because he was sure “that’s how it is for them”.
But Wolf isn’t the one to bet money on the newlyweds. According to “The View” host Sunny Houston, Lopez’s mother, Guadalupe Rodriguez, “always said that Ben He [Jennifer’s] true love.”
The two stars rekindled their romance last year after the “Marry Me” actress ended her four-year relationship with ex-MLB star Alex Rodriguez. A year after the couple started dating, the actor popped the question a second time using a huge green diamond.
The couple had previously engaged in 2002. They postponed their wedding in 2003 after it attracted a lot of media attention and eventually went their separate ways before meeting again in 2021. After trying hard to plan their first wedding, sources said Page six for the couple to elope and celebrate with friends and family afterwards.
While the couple were enjoying an intimate Sin City party, the newlyweds are planning a much larger “multi-day party” at Affleck’s 87-acre property in Riceboro, Ga. The big event will double as a birthday party for Jennifer, who turns 53 on July 24.
Lopez confirmed her marriage to Affleck in the July 17 issue of her “On The JLo” newsletter, saying it was “exactly what we wanted.”
“We did it. Love is beautiful. Love is gentle. And it turns out that love is patient. Patient twenty years,” she poured.
“Stay long enough, and perhaps you will find the best moment of your life on a Las Vegas drive-through at 12:30 a.m. in the tunnel of love that you pass through, with your children and who you will enjoy forever spending with. Love is a great thing, and perhaps the best of things.” – And it’s worth the wait.”
