White gowns look good on Jennifer Lopez.
The star married Ben Affleck in Las Vegas on July 16, 2022, and wore two different wedding gowns for the festive occasion, one of which she described as “from an old movie.”
While it’s unknown what movie she was referring to, the singer and actress has said “I do” in a notable number of flicks over the years, from 2001’s “The Wedding Planner” to 2022’s Marry Me. And at weddings appearing on screen, she wore bridal looks ranging from a simple ivory sheath to ornate haute couture.
Lopez also walked down the aisle four times in real life; Before tying the knot with Affleck, she was married to Marc Anthony from 2004 to 2014, Chris Judd from 2001 to 2004 and Ojani Noah from 1997 to 1998.
Here, take a look at every wedding dress that J Lo has worn, both for her real wedding and in the movies.
Wedding with Ben Affleck (2022)
Lopez wore a pair of dresses to marry the “Gigli” star in Sin City, one of which was an off-the-shoulder lace dress from the Zuhair Murad wedding dress collection, with long sleeves, bodice and fishtail train. She paired the look with a traditional lace-trimmed veil, a wedding bouquet—and of course, her green diamond engagement ring.
Confirming the weddings in her On The JLo newsletter, the “Waiting for Tonight” songwriter also shared photos and videos of her in Alexander McQueen’s design of a sleeveless floral jacquard.
“I’ve worn this dress for many years, and I’ve been saving it up and saving it, and now I’m wearing it on my wedding day,” she gushed from her second look.
“Venice Wedding” (2022)
Lopez stars opposite Josh Duhamel in this upcoming movie that, according to IMDb, “The couple’s extravagant wedding is hijacked by criminals.”
Judging by the specific photos that the lead lady of the flick posted on social media, she appears to be spending a lot of the movie in this wedding gown with a flowing skirt, which gets progressively more ripped as the plot progresses.
“Marry Me” (2022)
As music star Cat Valdez, JLo wears this stunning Zuhair Murad design covered in metallic embroidery and embellishment to marry beau Bastien (Maloma) in front of thousands of fans. But when she finds out he was cheating on her, she decides to say “I do” to a random member of the audience (Owen Wilson) instead.
“The dress weighed 95 pounds and required five people to move it and a hem to get Jennifer in and out, but it gave the dress that size,” stylist Carolyn Duncan told Variety, adding that the “extremely heavy” dress is intended as a visual metaphor for public weddings. Very large and comprehensive.
“El Cantante” (2006)
Filmed just two years after Lopez and co-star Marc Anthony got married for real, this biopic is based on the life of late salsa singer Hector Lavoie. As Lavaux’s bride, Pucci, J. Lo wore this empire-waisted gown with a flowing veil.
“Let’s Get Loud” singer and Jane Fonda (in the titular role) rock out in this rom-com, which sees Lopez wear an ivory SaeYoung Vu Couture gown and princess-appropriate gloves. (Not to be outdone, the character Fonda appears in her own white dress.)
Wedding with Marc Anthony (2004)
Lopez exchanged vows with Anthony in the backyard of her Beverly Hills home, wearing a strapless Vera Wang gown, Neil Lane jewelry and a romantic veil.
Slim (Lopez)’s marriage to abusive Mitch (Billy Campbell) in this early thriller may have been far from fairytale, but with its beaded spaghetti straps and embellished veil, her character’s wedding look was undeniably beautiful.
Wedding with Chris Judd (2001)
Dancer Lopez / Choreographer Chris Judd in a stunning Valentino dress featuring floral lace and embellished sheer sleeves.
“The Wedding Planner” (2001)
In one of J.Lo’s most beloved rom-coms, her character, wedding planner Marie Fiore, prepares to say “I do” to Massimo Justin Chambers in a vintage boat-neckline and bowler-cap dress with a dotted veil. (She ended up with the right guy, Doctor Steve Matthew McConaughey.)
When Meghan Markle married Prince Harry in a similar design by Givenchy in 2018, comparisons of the dresses flooded social media.
“I’ve had a lot of texts about Meghan Markle’s wedding dress,” stylist Pam Shelton told Glamor. “I’m sure,” Well, I’m sure it’s a coincidence. “But it was a good rom-com era when the movie came out – you could have seen it at the bedside!”
Wedding with Ojani Noa (1997)
To marry her first husband, actor Ojani Noa, Lopez wore an elegant sleeveless white lace dress and styled her hair into a high bun decorated with flowers.
