Nonetheless, Caroll will not be seen on the sidelines this autumn for the first time in decades during a football season. Instead, in his new role as a professor at USC, he will be ambulating among rows of desks.
Yes, Coach Caroll has returned to the Trojans, but he will not be leading the football team. This time around, NFL insider Adam Schefter said on Wednesday morning, he’s testing the waters of academia:
Carroll may not start teaching until the spring semester, as noted in Schefter’s report, but he is determined to join the classroom after an impressive coaching career.
About the possibility, Carroll expressed excitement, saying, “I’m looking forward to that,” according to Schefter. “It’s going to be a really exciting endeavor when it’s finalized and all that.”
